Our Action Snowmobile Tour with Snow Tubing

Snowmobile and snow tubing enthusiasts of all types will enjoy this professionally guided tour. It departs from our Heeney Outpost near Silverthorne, Colorado. For your convenience, we have pickup locations in both Breckenridge and Keystone, or we can pick your party up from many of the resorts in Summit County. Call us to schedule transportation. You must call prior to your tour day to schedule transportation. Not available during peak season.

This tour is best suited for those who want to go a little faster than the folks on the Scenic Tour! Split your time between riding the trails and sliding down our 1,000 foot tubing hill. Be prepared to let your inner child run wild! This isn’t your ordinary “wait in line and then ride a tow rope up a short hill” kind of tubing.  This is snow tubing HCT style and it’s nothing like the experience at your typical ski resort!

You’ll stop along the trail at our tubing hill and park your snowmobile and get in a snow tube. Your guide will tow you in your snow tube up to the top of the tubing hill, which is pretty fun all by itself. Then you’ll start sliding down the hill in either the faster or slower areas, depending on the type of ride you want. Join up with your friends, or go solo…it’s up to you. Kids need to be able to ride down in a snow tube by themselves in order to participate.

OUR SNOWMOBILES

Featured Point of Interest: Eagle’s Nest Wilderness

Eagle’s Nest Wilderness is over 135,000 acres of protected national forest in Colorado. Heavy snow tends to accumulate on the sharp peaks of the Gore Range and provides much of the headwaters for the Colorado River. Spring brings melting snowpack that creates turbulent creeks that eventually lead to marshy meadows and a burst of wildflowers.

Many of the jagged peaks in this area have sheer rock faces, deep valleys, and dense forests near the base. Gore Range peaks attain heights over 12,000 feet, the highest of which is Mt. Powell, topping out at 13,560 ft. The very qualities that today attract mountain-loving adventurers, repelled fortune-seeking prospectors during Colorado’s mining rush, thereby preserving the area’s pristine character. You won’t find any of the mine shafts and tailings piles that pockmark other Rocky Mountain high country.

There are approximately 180 miles of hiking and snowmobiling trails, many of which end at Cataract Lake, an alpine lake that boasts astounding views. This area can be accessed from the Colorado towns of Vail, Silverthorne, and Frisco. Because of the rugged nature of the area, few trails pass over the Gore Range. Some follow a narrow valley into the interior of the range only to come to an abrupt end beneath vertical walls of rock. The two trails that do cross the range from east to west are located on the extreme north and at the southern ends of the range where the peaks pause and open up to form mountain passes.

High Country snowmobile Tours was amazing. We saw some of he most amazing views. We first took the Mountain top tour then came back for more fun on the advance course ride. Our guide was super fun and friendly both times. An experience I'll never forget!
