Heeney Snowmobile Outpost

This outpost is conveniently located just a bit north from the famous Colorado resort towns of Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone.  Depending on the weather, you’ll have the opportunity to take in scenic views of: The Continental Divide • Rocky Mountain National Park • Eagles Nest Wilderness • Lower Cataract Lake • Gore Mountain Range • Rabbit Ears Mountain Range. Where you go depends on the tour selected.

All snowmobile tours at Heeney Outpost get to experience our huge 3/4-mile long oval play area where you can get comfortable and test out your machine while your friendly and professional tour guide supervises from the sideline.  Snowmobilers will also enjoy groomed trails through both young and old-growth forests, hot cocoa at “The Overlook” cabin, and possibly Colorado wildlife.

Birdseye Snowmobile Outpost

This tour area starts at 10,000 feet and tops out at over 12,600 feet above sea level. You will begin on the easiest part of the trail system and you’ll have free time in the meadow where you can practice riding your snowmobile and warm up with some hot cocoa in the Cocoa Tent.  Where you go after this will depend on which tour you have selected.

Depending on the weather, you’ll be afforded incredible views of the tallest mountains in the Rockies, including the two of the tallest, plus glimpses of Leadville’s Historic Mining District.   Other potential points of interest are:  The Continental Divide • Holy Cross Wilderness • Sawatch Mountain Range • Mosquito Mountain Range • Gore Mountain Range • As many as 14 of Colorado’s “14ers” (Mountains over 14,000 feet tall).

Keystone Meet-Up Location
