Do your own thing, do the unguided rental. Miles of trails to explore along with lots of powder riding in backcountry bowls. Unguided snowmobile rentals are a great option for people who know how to snowmobile in the Colorado Rockies. You can depart directly from our Birdseye Outpost which gives you access to thousands of acres of terrain and miles of trails that go over the mountains and through old gold mining ghost towns. When the weather is right you can see many of Colorado’s 14’ers including the three tallest mountains in the Rockies. You may also take the machines to a destination of your choosing if you have a tow vehicle and a trailer. We do lend out our 2 place trailer if you need it. Some of these “trailer to” destinations include Vail Pass Recreation Area (25 minute drive), Chicago Ridge (5 minute drive), Cotton Wood Pass (1 hour drive), or Rabbit Ears Pass (2 hour drive). We also give discounts for multiple day rentals. We require that you have previous snowmobiling experience including knowledge of getting a stuck snowmobile out and you must know how to survive in the mountains. You are responsible to bring the snowmobile back in the same condition that you received it and on time. While in the backcountry you should take note of where you have cell service so you can return to that spot if you need to call out. The snowmobile rental includes: the snowmobile, a full tank of gas, a helmet, and advice on snowmobile operation and where to go. You must be 25 years of age or older to rent a unguided snowmobile.
